Compound Adjectives — Ministry book p. 60
They are adjectives made up of two or more words, often joined by a hyphen, that function as a single descriptive unit before a noun. They allow for more concise and precise descriptions.
Hyphens are crucial. When compound adjectives appear before the noun they modify, use hyphens to show the words work together as one idea. When they appear after the noun (or with a linking verb), hyphens are usually not used.
